Question 4

Q: You pursued a higher education in Law, a noble choice which I believe is in-line with your stated desire to serve the people. However, after your family invested a considerable amount of resources in your studies, you changed your mind and instead opted to go into Event Management. What caused this change? Was 'serving the people' not on your list of priorities at that time?

There is so little information provided by you guys. With all respect, It is common understanding / manace to 1st introduce yourself before asking the other person. As general as "a group of dedicated" voters just won't do it.

Madam Ong is an Amway salesgirl. She giving up all these??

Amway is memang known to be a part-time business, which people can juggle with their full-time jobs, family responsibilities etc. Thats why its so popular amongst the middle-class folks! Its not like being an Event Manager, very time consuming and stressful. Which takes up more of a person's time?

That's true. Studied law but now doing event management. It's a waste of education fund and lack of judgement.
For me, it is a sin to be given all the oppotunity to study law overseas, then to come back and do something like event management.

Is this what you call freedom of choice? we live in a world where CHOICE is abundant. Hannah took a law degree but ONE'S calling could come from anywhere! This could well be what Hannah does best and being in Event Management field coupled with a Law background would serve her well in Subang Jaya constituency. She will have a Technical(Law) and People(EM) side. It's like having a 50-50 of IQ and EQ. This is great news! Btw, i believe this writer should step in the shoes of an Event Manager. You know? She is not an Event Coolie. Think about it.

I can safely say I speak on behalf of all the broken-hearted fathers who have spent their entire life-savings and even gotten entrapped into unending loans to finance the education of their daughters. And how do they repay us? Instead of pursuing a noble (but dull) profession, they choose to flirt around with uncertainty and all the useless people that comes along. I cry my cyber tears for you.. How can you ask for the trust of the voters when you betray the trust of your very own father?

This one i had to support the blogger.

Its such a wastage to have spent a considerable sum in studying law but ended up doing event management.

Pls dont compare with Tun Dr M, or Dr Jeffrey Goh or Dr. Khir, etc etc. These ppl at least served their profession for a while and then serve the rakyat. Whereas, this Hannah dude (if true as what the blogger claimed) is acted like some sort of rich spoilt brat that go and do what she likes.

Its a bit dangerous to have such attitude.

TO all ye stupid dumb Malaysians (the anonymous above who criticized Hannah Yeoh for being an Even Mgr) .You don't even know or bother to find out what's event mgmt. A good Event Mgr who organisers and promotes a meaningful event successfully can impact upon society even more than a lawyer. Hannah is exactly the right (and rare gem) for us to be qualified in both to effect change within a legal framework in our bloody govt.
You damn stupid critics - please at least see the dictionary or ask your daddy first what's event mgmt before you post a blog.

For your information, Event Management is even more tougher than a lawyer job. I don't blame u guys since u guys thinking still like before 1957.
To organise a good event, is even more tougher than preparing documents to sign. I have work in a law firm before. That's why i know.
No big deal what u study and what u practise after completing it. The main idea is to contribute back to the community. Help the less fortunate.
You can be a successful lawyer but selfish and greedy .. what is the point ?
Please understand this ... Please be fair to hannah and to the youngster out there.
